- Analyze and determine the root cause(s) of the variation.
- Improve the process by eliminating root causes.
- Control future process performance.
What Is DFSS?
DFSS stands for Design For Six Sigma. The methodology for DFSS has 5 phases:
- Define the project objective and customer CTQs.
- Measure and determine customer needs and specifications.
- Analyze the process (and or product) options to meet CTQs.
- Design the process (and or product) to meet the CTQs.
- Verify if the design meets CTQs.

What is a Green Belt?
Green Belt is a person with the ability and knowledge to participate in a Black Belt Team and/or to lead a team through a Lean Six Sigma project using DMAIC methodology.
What is a Yellow Belt?
Yellow Belt is a person with the ability and knowledge to participate in a Black Belt/Green Belt Team and his/her main task is measurement.
What is a White Belt?
White Belt is a person with the basic understanding and knowledge in Lean Six Sigma and the DMAIC methodology.
